Education Initative

Initiative Background:

Founder Jarrell V. Jordan has an extensive background and love for education. Education is the key to success and who betters understands this concept than our Founder. Education was a tool that Jarrell used to better himself and his community. Jarrell founded the Importance of Education Initiative in 2016 after being appointed as a White House HBCU Ambassador and now the Education Initiative is one of the seven focus areas of the Jarrell V. Jordan Foundation.

Initiative Mission:

The Importance of Education Initiative’s mission is to Educate, Motivate, & Inspire elementary, middle and high school students about the Importance of Education, and life after graduation.

Initiative Objectives:

Promote the Importance of Education & Life after Graduation
Provide Resources to the Students & Parents relating to Education, College & Career
Teach students about the history & culture of HBCU’s
Prepare students to apply for Careers, Internships, College, Financial aid & Scholarships.

The New Bill Gates Scholarship:

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year, for 10 years, with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
