OUR STORY

My name is Jarrell V. Jordan. I am a senior Political Science major and Religion minor at Morehouse College from Birmingham Alabama. I currently serve as the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of the Jarrell V. Jordan Company created in January of 2019. I am also the Founder of the Jarrell V. Jordan Foundation which is set to be officially established in November of 2019. I formerly served as the White House HBCU Ambassador & HBCU Advisor for the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges & Universities. I was appointed to this position in August of 2016 under the Obama Administration.

Growing up for me was very tough. There were a lot of obstacles that I had to face. I was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. I never knew my father and my mother has several issues which caused me to not be able to live with her for a lot of my life. My brother and I were raised by our grandmother after my mother passed away during my sophomore year of high school. Life will sometimes hit you with unexpected situations that you have to choose to overcome.

I have a background in so many areas including audio engineering, education, computer science, music, and even politics. I created the Jarrell V. Jordan Company to help people find their passion and to give them the resources needed to be successful in their life and career. I wanted to create an avenue that I could give back to my community and pour into the lives of so many people the same way my life was poured into. I decided to create the Jarrell V. Jordan Foundation as a spin-off of the Importance of Education Initiative which was founded in 2016. This foundation will allow me to have a greater impact on people and focus on a wide range of areas than just education.

In my life, I have been through so many things both good and bad. I want to share those experiences with others and help them to grow. One of my favorite quotes says, “Until the lions have their own historians, the tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” This quote is very profound to me because it empowers me to tell my own story. You never know how your story, life and experiences can help someone else.

With the help of so many wonderful and talented people, the Jarrell V. Jordan Foundation will be able to change the lives of so many people and hopefully empower someone else to tell their story. Through Cultural Arts, Education, Health, Leadership & Development, Mentorship, Policy and Service, we will change the world.
